lend a helping hand

there's been food and fun, but we do see patients, too. i've only had a few clinic days, but came across an interesting case this morning. i'm curious about the 15-year-old boy who has had this warty growth on his hands for the past 3 years. he really has no other complaints besides a few smaller lesions at the waist. he says it bleeds if he bumps a lesion too hard. for the medical folks out there, any ideas on what this could be? know anyone who might know? no one out here has ever seen it before.
when you're done lending a helping hand, you can have a helping of hand! ha ha. that 4- or 5-digit thing on the plate would be called "patte de crocodile" but other parts are served, too. once you get past the reptile idea and glistening scale, it's actually not so bad. i think it tastes like chicken gizzards. if you've ever had homemade gumbo, you know what i'm talking about. it helped that the restaurant was pretty dark;)

thanks to the kind dermatologist who suggested a diagnosis of planar warts or molluscum contagiosum in the context of HIV infection. today we make an attempt at cryotherapy (freezing warts off) and i'm hoping he'll agree to be tested for HIV.
